Axient is seeking a Data Analyst to support our customer at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL. They will provide expertise to acquire, manage, manipulate, and analyze data and report results. This role involves analyzing large datasets, producing insights for project and program management, and ensuring compliance with NASA’s standards and reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will excel in data visualization, statistical analysis, and process improvement.

 

 

What you will do...

 

• Gather and analyze data related to NASA METTS program performance, procurement, and engineering operations.
• Collaborate with program managers, procurement leads, and technical teams to understand data requirements and provide actionable insights.
• Reviews input data for accuracy, integrity, and compliance with NASA standards.
• Reviews computer input and output documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to establishment standards.
• Use predictive modeling techniques to forecast resource allocation and project outcomes.
• Document data workflows, methodologies, and results to support transparency and reproducibility.
• Reviews documents to ensure completeness and appropriateness prior to data entry.
• Compares corrected input and output data with source documents, worksheets to verify corrections.
• Generates and maintains staffing level estimates in accordance with contract modifications.
• Reviews contract modifications for impact to staffing levels.
• Maintains sensitive information and generates reports in accordance with deliverable requirements weekly/monthly/as needed/requested.
• Maintains contract organizational chart
• Prepares submittals and reports in support of the METTS Business Manager.
• Performs reviews and analysis of financial data and reports.

Skills you will need...

Required Experience/Education: (i.e.: Knowledge, skills, abilities, software, etc.)

     

One year of experience in a related field is required. Computer proficiency in MS Office suite of products and internet research capabilities is required.

Microsoft Office proficiency is required, specifically in Excel and Word. Position is responsible for maintaining excel databases and calculations regularly.

  

Preferred Experience: (i.e.: Knowledge, skills, abilities, software, etc.)

     

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably within a government contracting or aerospace/engineering environment.
  • Familiarity with NASA’s reporting processes (e.g., 533 reports, cost reports) is a strong advantage.
  • Advanced experience with data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI).
  • Strong understanding of statistical and predictive modeling techniques.
  • Familiarity with NASA’s systems and tools (e.g., CostPoint, SharePoint, or similar platforms) is a plus.

  

Work Environment (office, lab, test stand etc):

Performs work in an office environment but will be situated near by a manufacturing / machine floor.

 

Physical Requirements (ability to lift X amount of weight, sit or stand for long periods of time etc):

Works on a computer, sits or stands for long periods of time.
