Axient is seeking an Aquisition Management Systems Engineering SME to join our team in El Segundo, CA to provide Technical Support for the Infrastructure Branch.  This is for a newly awarded 5-year program (Eclipse) supporting the Space Sensing Directorate of the USSF in El Segundo, CA.

Currently work schedule is on a Hybrid 3/2 schedule.

Requires a TS/SCI clearance.

What you will do...

Space Sensing (SN) is one of five SSC program executive offices and is responsible for delivering space-based MW/MT/MD capabilities; space based environmental monitoring (SBEM) capabilities; and other tactical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities, ensuring end-to-end mission integration.

 

This role will provide acquisition consulting to review technical program solicitation documentation, such as acquisition strategy, systems engineering and integration plans, IMP, IMS, and CDRLs for adherence to policy/guidance; consistency in implementation of its acquisition strategy, technical approach/requirements, acquisition policy/guidance, milestones, forecasts, and risk assessments.

 

Description

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Support Materiel Leader & Deputy in all aspects of Program Strategy, Systems Engineering and Integration execution, and Business Operations.
  • Review program documentation, such as acquisition strategy, systems engineering plan, IMP, IMS, CDRLs, etc. for adherence to applicable policy/guidance; consistency in implementation of its acquisition strategy, technical approach/requirements, acquisition policy/guidance, milestones, forecasts, and risk assessment; and realism in achieving a product suitable for the warfighter within cost/schedule/performance constraints
  • Collect, analyze, store, and distribute acquisition “lessons learned” from SSC and other organizations to promote increased efficiencies, timeliness, and effectiveness. Implement effective methodologies for Program Management, Systems Engineering, Product Development, and Organizational Management efforts
  • Ensure consistency in implementation of its acquisition strategy, technical approach/requirements, acquisition policy/guidance, milestones, forecasts, and risk assessment.
  • Drafts content for acquisition reporting, strategic communications, and higher-headquarters tasker's responses.
  • Support contracting actions, Statement of Work (SOW) writing, competition analysis, and operations acceptance.
  • Support in the execution of resilient space sensing architectures, acquisition documents, technology demonstrations and product development to ensure compliance with technical requirements on the contract.
  • Assess whether acquisition plans, acquisition strategies, capability documents, and solicitation documents are accurately reflected in the technical aspects of the programs as defined in the system engineering plans and technical requirements documents, compliance standards and all applicable management plans.
  • Provide agile methodologies for Program Management and Software Development efforts including support for agile coaching, PI planning and required training (e.g. DevSecOps, CICD, SAFe) to support agile acquisition approaches. (CDRLs A003, A004, A005)
  • Participate in formal program reviews.  Provide findings and updates to Space Sensing leadership and assist with briefings up the leadership chain.

Skills you will need...

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: 

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, or related technical field (Required). Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for degree requirement: twelve (12) years of work experience may be substituted for a Master's Degree; OR Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years work experience may be substituted for a Master's Degree.
  • Minimum 15+ years of technical/engineering experience with Major Command level organizations and processes to include a working level knowledge of requirements generation, Planning Programing Budget and Execution and concept development.
  • Experience developing initial test plans for smaller non-Acquisition Category programs getting operational acceptance highly desired .
  • Familiarity with Space System Command (Formerly Space and Missile Systems Center) procedures highly desired
  • Excellent and detail-oriented organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills highly desired
  • Advanced-level competency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook highly desired
  • Must have an active and transferrable DoD Top Secret security clearance with current investigation at the required level.  Must be able to maintain the required clearance
