The Senior Independent Verification, Validation and Test (IVV&T) Engineer provides systems and integration engineering for the Space Systems Command (SSC), Space Sensing (SN) Program Executive Office.

What you will do...

 The SSC/SN mission is to deliver persistent space sensing for all-domain awareness to deter, defend, and win. Primary mission areas are Missile Warning/Tracking/Defense, Environmental Monitoring, and Persistent Tactical Surveillance.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate all testing documentation for programs across the Space Sensing portfolio in verification planning and execution activities, to include advising, reviewing, and developing test strategies, Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMPs), and requirements verification products.
  • Participate in formal program reviews.
  • Provide all IVV&T-related findings and updates to Space Sensing leadership regularly and assist with briefings up the leadership chain. This includes any noteworthy anomalies until resolution.
  • Document post-test analyses and lessons-learned and actively apply that knowledge into future developmental test criteria and events.
  • Monitor the execution of the system engineering processes for all of the USAF Space OPIR and defense Weather development, production, sustainment, and future programs to ensure compliance with the technical requirements on contract and all mission assurance practices.

Skills you will need...

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, or related technical field (Required). Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience with Major Command (MAJCOM) level organizations and processes to include a working level knowledge of requirements generation, Planning Programing Budget and Execution (PPBE) and concept development.
  • Experience developing initial test plans for smaller non-Acquisition Category (ACAT) programs getting operational acceptance highly desired .
  • Familiarity with Space System Command (Formerly Space and Missile Systems Center) Certification and Authorization (C&A) procedures highly desired
  • Excellent and detail-oriented organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills highly desired
  • Advanced-level competency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook highly desired
  • Must meet applicable COVID safety requirements and protocols
