SEG is looking for a candidate to fulfil the primary duties of a Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) and a Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO), with secondary duty as Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to join our team of passionate security professionals in the SEG, Columbia, MD facility. You will be a key contributor to the security team in administering the sensitive compartmented information program and assist in the SEG Industrial Security Program.

 

You'll will be well versed in administering routine aspects of the Intelligence and other industrial security programs to ensure compliance with government and company security policies and procedures. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment with a bias for action. You should be able to build high-trust partnerships with management and other security team members while being energetic, detail-oriented, analytical, and self-starting.

What you will do...

You will report to the Director, Axient/Astrion Security, with oversight and guidance by the SEG FSO, and will:

 

  • Follow the 32 CFR Part 117, the NISPOM, ICDs, and other government regulations to administer routine aspects of the DoD, Intelligence, and other industrial security programs to ensure compliance with government and company security policies and procedures.

 

Your duties include support to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) programs, Special Access Program (SAP) and as the Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO).

 

  • Primary responsibilities involve completing SF86/eAPP for new and periodic personnel investigations, SCI/SAP contract nomination packages, and coordinating with customer security representatives to process security clearance requirements.  Management of a DOD contractor SCIF with knowledge of SCI/SAP material control and providing SCI/SAP Briefings.
  • Be knowledgeable of the NISPOM, DCSA and other security related GCA regulations.
  • This position is also responsible for the preparation of subcontractor DD254s, preparation of visit authorization letters (VALs), and coordinating cleared visitors, including validating clearances. 
  • Protect classified government information, monitor security procedures, and ensure compliance with all program aspects, including personnel, physical, and administrative security systems and procedures.
  • Conduct security briefings and security education program briefings. Investigate losses and security violations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain classified storage and audits of documents.  Conduct classified Document Control procedures, including receiving, processing, and assigning DCNs to classified materials, reproducing, transmitting and destruction of classified materials.
  • Assist in changing lock combinations on safes and doors to classified areas.
  • Conduct office and facility perimeter control inspections.
  • Assist in Physical Facility Security, to include movement of security equipment and furniture.
  • Train staff identified for open/close access and maintain records.  
  • Program and update the alarm system with user information. Change the door and safe combinations as needed due to staff turnover and maintain a record of combinations. 
  • Make and program employee badges for site access.  Maintain files for customers and audits.
  • Conduct annual self-inspections and DCSA scheduled facility inspections with the FSO.  Interface directly with program manager (PM) to address security items specific to each program/contract.
  • Ability and flexibility to move from one task to another and be available for various functions and perform other duties as directed.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and at least 5 years of related work experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and minimum active TS Clearance with the ability to obtain SCI eligibility.
  • Must possess practical knowledge and experience with DISS, e-QIP/eAPP, NISS, and NBIS.
  • Must have previous industrial security experience and knowledge of the 32 CFR 11, NISPOM and ICDs.
  • Must have experience with personnel and physical security, document control, and visitor control. 
  • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally with all staff and outside personnel.
  • Must have experience in security management in the contractor community.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and teamwork skills.
  • Self-starter able to take initiative within a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Must have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Well organized and confident to work independently but be a strong team player.
  • Ability to effectively manage ambiguity and multi-task on a variety of initiatives.
  • Must be self-motivated and results oriented.
  • Completed FSO Training for Possessing Facilities in CDSE.

 

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Completion of SCI Contractors Special Security Officer (CSSO) Course.
  • Completion of additional CDSE security related courses would be a plus.
