Axient is looking for a DevSecOps Engineer who will lean heavily into Cyber Security as it pertains to US government systems. In this role you will interface with internal and external customers to manage multiple government IT security plans. You will work within an integrated group of developers, data analysts, and system administrators. In this group you will have ample peer support as well as opportunities to learn and grow.

 

Limited nights and/or weekends support may be required.

 

US citizenship required.

What you will do...

  • IT Security (~60%)
    • Five years combined experience with:
      • Windows Server
      • Linux Server
      • SAMBA shares
      • Risk Management Framework
        • Incident response and documentation (DAR)
      • Managing group, file and folder permissions
      • Managing User Accounts

 

  • Everything else (~30%)
    • Experience with Object oriented programming
    • Proficient with SQL
    • Front end web app development
    • General Scripting
  • Additional duties as assigned (~10%)

Skills you will need...

Required Experience/Education: (i.e.: Knowledge, skills, abilities, software, etc.)

     

 

  • Bachelors degree in computer related discipline from an ABET accredited school with 5 years related experience.
  • IT Security (~60%)
  • In this role you will interface with internal and external customers to manage multiple US government NASA IT security plans
  • The candidate will have 5 years combined knowledge and experience with:
      • Windows Server
      • Linux Server
      • Virtual Systems
      • SAMBA shares
      • Risk Management Framework
  • Vulnerability Patching and Remediation
      • Managing group, file and folder permissions
      • Managing User Accounts
  • Everything else (~30%)
    • Proficient with SQL
    • Familiar with:
      • Front end web app development
      • Scripting
      • Object oriented programming
  • Additional duties as assigned (~10%)

 

 

Preferred Experience: (i.e.: Knowledge, skills, abilities, software, etc.)

 

  • Windows Server
  • Linux Server
  • Experience with programming languages C# and C++
  • Familiar with Group Policy Objects
  • Experience interfacing with and briefing customers at various levels of the organization
  • Able to multi-task and effectively balance competing priorities while producing quality deliverables.
  • Experience with the implementation, oversight, and maintenance of the security configuration, practices, and procedures for government systems

Work Environment (office, lab, test stand etc):

 

This position will primarily be in an office environment within the Propulsion Test Lab at Marshall Spaceflight Center. The candidate could be assigned additional that occasionally take place at the individual test stands. Adhering to all safety policies is absolutely essential in the test area. Candidate will need to be able to traverse uneven terrain, climb stairs, and work outside when the task requires it.
