Axient is seeking an Aviation & Missile Corrosion Prevention and Control Analyst to support our customer in Huntsville, Alabama. 

What you will do...

This position will act as a Aviation & Missile Corrosion Prevention and Control Team Analyst supporting the AMCOM Corrosion Program Office (CPO) addressing impacts of corrosion for Army aviation and missile systems.

 

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide technical expertise to basic research and development of exploratory and advanced development projects, and/or programs to advance technologies relevant to corrosion control, COSIS, corrosion coatings.
  • Develop and implement a coherent Corrosion Prevention and Control Plans, ensuring the use of the most up-to-date materials and process information.
  • Develop, deliver, and provide unit level training with necessary CPC aides, newsletters, handouts, and other educational material needed to support AMCOM’s CPO.
  • Perform analysis, test, and evaluation of corrosion resistant coating systems and processes.
  • Perform laboratory evaluations such as adhesion, accelerated corrosion, pencil hardness, flexibility testing, outdoor/field exposure, accelerated outdoor exposure evaluations, and site visits to support corrosion prevention and control efforts.
  • Perform data reduction, organize, and analyze test data, demonstrate coating systems, develop and review test plans in accordance with DI-NDTI-80566, draft and review proposals, and provide final reports as required for corrosion evaluations.
  • Provide technical expertise for operational requirements at Army depots, TASMs, and other paint facilities to address material substitutions and process issues to ensure corrosion protection of weapons systems while identifying environmentally compliant materials.
  • Perform environmental document reviews as requested and participate in reviews of Army specifications, standards, and publications to ensure corrosion resistant, environmentally compliant coatings and commercial equivalent materials are properly evaluated.
  • Provide support in corrosion prevention and control to include identification, fabrication, and surface preparation of materials required for adhesion and corrosion testing of coatings and CPC products.
  • Provide support panel preparation, coatings application and removal, analysis, evaluation, and documentation of test results to determine causes of corrosion of AMCOM weapon systems

Skills you will need...

Preferred Experience/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Army and DOD databases to extract data for analysis.
  • Working knowledge of Army Database software applications such as ULLS-A, ACN, RIMFIRE, FMAS, ASAP, MCDS, JDRS, PDREP, TAMMS-A.
  • Performed duties as a Test Pilot, Technical Inspector or Maintenance phase team leader.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to effectively communicate through both oral and written communication between multiple stakeholders both government and contractor.
  • Proven record in training technical procedures and methods.
