What you will do...

Your typical day – Our MDA engineers work in modern, well-appointed government facilities on Schriever Space Force Base (SFB). Schriever SFB is located just east of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Colorado is certainly a hub of missile and space operations, research and development. You will collaborate with other missile defense experts – military, government civilians, and contractors from Axient and other companies. Our team of experts helps the Government manage planning, development, analysis and delivery of state-of-the art sensors, weapons, communications, and command/control systems.

Skills you will need...

This position directly supports the Mission Voice Communications (MVC) Asset Manager, providing technical assistance and management of the voice communications system supporting Missile Defense Agency (MDA) flight test events. The selected candidate will translate operational needs in program documentation. They will support MDA MVC by gathering requirements for functional system configuration/design and work with a team to validate that documented requirements are met. This position requires a broad level of experience to include but not limited to the duties below:

  •  Develop systems engineering procedures and processes, requirements management, configuration management, tracking metrics, risk management, technical review, developing and reviewing SE plans, documentation, and other contractor deliverables.
  • Perform work that applies industry standard best practices, IT-related performance measures and quality management in support of acquisition planning, information assurance/ cybersecurity, test and evaluation processes, verification and validation processes, and/or, fielding and sustaining of IT/software systems.
  • Conduct system reviews to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, design/perform system level tests to assure that subsystems and system performance is achieved in accordance with approved specifications.
  • Prepare technical documentation and briefings that define, specify, and recommend system/subsystem characteristics.
  • Prepare management reports and conduct technical presentations for planning, implementation and corrective action using application of analysis principles.
  • Perform validation of software systems including development of analyses/evaluation criteria and procedures, analyses/evaluation of results, and related recommendations.
  • Provide technical support and technical training to support programs/initiatives including but not limited to acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, continued evolution, deployment/fielding and installation, and operational oversight.
  • Provide analyst support services/inputs to program and project risk management activities.
  • Provide annual and project-level budgetary/financial support to include preparing and tracking RFAs, IGCEs, and POM requests.

Required Education/Experience:

  • MA/MS in a related field. A BA/BS with five years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for the MA/MS degree requirement.
  • 10 years relevant experience.
  • Active Secret to TS/SCI clearance.
  • Capable of leading and executing analytical tasks and utilizing analytical techniques and processes to support complex developmental and operational test programs.
  • Capable of leading and executing planning, monitoring, acquisition, and implementation support for complex systems.
  • Extensive knowledge, skills, and abilities in the analysis field.
  • Capable of leading the development and utilization of analytic techniques and processes for both technical and administrative support activities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple organizations, verbally, electronically, and in writing.
  • Possess exceptional technical writing and Government reporting/documentation skills (e.g., Congressional/GAO Test inquiries).
  • Self-starter, able to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Missile Defense System components and system-level topics.

Highly Desired Experience:

  • Experience with DoD test processes and/or test execution
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of the Compunetix Mission Voice Platform Switch and its family of peripheral devices
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge on the full spectrum of Telecommunications and Network Management principals, designs and system interoperability
  • Familiarity with MDA’s structure, policies, and procedures
