Work includes Software Modeling and Simulation activities focused on Space to Ground integration, at Government integration laboratories and Space Force operational ground sites.

What you will do...

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Provide modeling and simulation Systems of Systems integration with OPIR ground in support of mission integration and mission performance. 
  • Provide assessment of testing and analysis of ground processing software
  • Participate in enterprise level testing and provide recommendations to government on resolution of issues
  • Recommend modeling and simulation needs for the OPIR program
  • Perform assessment of contractor deliverable and design reviews.
  • Perform mission assessments of technical and schedule readiness for satellites and ground system.
  • Work with development contractors to witness factory performance testing, requirements verification, functional validation and conduct physical and functional configuration audits.
  • Develop support plans for system transportation to integration laboratories and operations sites and supports Government in factory and site acceptance of hardware and software deliveries.
  • Build collaborative team of system engineers and test specialist to execute systems integration and end-to-end system testing. 
  • Oversees the development, coordination and execution of Integration Schedules affecting multiple stakeholders.
  • Oversees the development and execution of system of systems integration and test plans. Work closely with OPIR Modeling & Analysis Center (OMAC) for performance evaluation of systems under integration and test.
  • Work SBIRS transition to FORGE, Next Gen GEO Interim Operations (NIO), and NGG SV1 transition to FORGE.  This will be followed by Space to Ground Integration of Next Gen Polar (NGP) and MEO Layer.

Skills you will need...

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (required). Work experience may be substituted for degree. Master's degree a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience (required) in development, implementation and integration of payload satellite and ground missions and launch missions, assembly, integration, launch & operations.
  • Must have an active and transferrable DoD security clearance with current investigation - TS required; SCI desired.   
  • Familiarity with Space System Command (Formerly Space and Missile Systems Center) space and ground satellite systems desired.
  •  Ability to interact and coordinate with development contractors to determine “best value” alternatives for implementation. Ability to lead and communicate to geographically distributed and remote work staffs. desired
  • Good working knowledge of space-based sensing systems, preferably in both Geosynchronous and Highly Elliptical orbital regimes.  Experience in Space to Ground compatibility testing and integration activities. Knowledge of spacecraft initialization, calibration, tuning and transition to operations activities for OPIR Strategic Missile Warning systems. Understanding of Spacecraft and terrestrial communications subsystems. desired
  • Excellent and detail-oriented organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills  desired
  • Advanced-level competency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook  desired
