Your typical day – Our MDA analysts and engineers work in modern, well-appointed government facilities at Redstone Arsenal. Redstone Arsenal is located in Huntsville, Alabama, otherwise known as “Rocket City.” Huntsville is the hub of missile and space research and development. You will collaborate with other missile defense experts – military, government civilians, and contractors from Axient and other companies. Our team of experts helps the Government manage planning, development, and delivery of state-of-the art sensors, weapons, communications, and command/control systems. As a member of MDA’s Directorate for Cyber Test, the candidate’s cyber security, testing background, and technical skills will assist with analyzing, integrating, and managing all aspects of mission preparation and execution to ensure the success of the MDA cyber test program.

What you will do...

  • Provide cyber analysis support to plan, coordinate, and execute complex system-level development and operational cyber test events through all phases using Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) and/or operational environments  
  • Collaborate with MDA, other DoD and non-DoD military, civilian and contractor personnel to identify, verify, and request system-level assets to be assessed during the cyber test in support of deployment decisions of Missile Defense System (MDS) capabilities
  • Prepare test documentation to include Test Execution Packages, Blue Team Procedures, Rules of Engagement, Allowed/Off-Limits Lists, Verification of Fixes (VoF), Posture Matrix, and Architecture drawings 
  • Prepare for and support meetings, briefings, and deliverables such as the Integrated Cyber Test Team, Execution Planning Meetings, weekly Situational Reports, record decisions/actions, Emerging Results Briefing, Test Configuration Working Group, and senior-level briefings/reviews 
  • Identify and resolve program, stakeholder, and asset scheduling issues to ensure the mission will meet test execution and overall MDA objectives 
  • Upload and track test deliverables to the Missile Defense Data Center 
  • Manage Test Registration Database (TRD) for larger cyber events 
  • Support the government customer as alternate Mission Test Director to coordinate test runs and personnel activities 
  • Support the Test Resource Manager to identify site POCs, site-specific information (physical and logical access points), daily testing battle rhythms, and organizing team deployment information

Skills you will need...

Required Skills and Experience:  

  • Bachelor of Science in Information Systems or related technical degree (7 years of related cyber test experience that includes at least two years of systems/network administration may be substituted for the BS degree requirement) 
  • 5 years of experience in assessment and authorization of information systems, to include 3 years in systems/network administration and understanding of architecture development 
  • DoD 8570 certification 
  • DoD Secret to Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance  
  • Detail oriented and possess the ability to work in an Integrated Product Team environment with Government and contractor personnel 
  • Possess the ability to clearly express ideas/concepts, coordinate with facility and organizational leads to resolve issues, and work closely with asset managers 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and possess analytical skills to identify and fault isolate problems/issues, accurately assess relevance of information, generate and evaluate alternatives, and provide solution recommendations 
  • Be a self-starter, able to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment 

Highly Desirable Skills and Experience: 

  • Experience with the Department of Defense (DoD) organization and DoD testing 
  • Knowledge of MDS components and system-level topics 
  • Familiarity with MDA organization and processes
