Axient is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Intermediate Software Engineer to join our team, providing critical support to the Air Force SEEK EAGLE Office (AFSEO) at Eglin Air Force Base, FL. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development and engineering, with a keen understanding of aerospace requirements and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and collaborative environment. *Must have an active or current and transferable DoD Secret security clearance. *

What you will do...

  • Develop and maintain software applications supporting the SEEK EAGLE Office's mission
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including Systems Engineering, Test Automation, and DevSecOps, in an Agile software development environment. 
  • Implement and manage GIT repositories and ensure code quality and version control. 
  • Utilize CI/CD tools and practices to streamline software development and deployment processes. 
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including system diagrams, user manuals, and troubleshooting guides
  • Work with cloud technologies and service providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. 
  • Apply engineering principles and practices to solve complex technical challenges.
  • Utilize containerization technologies like Docker to enhance software issues effectively.

Skills you will need...

Minimum Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in the aerospace or defense industry
  • Knowledge of aircraft and weapon Time Space Position Information (TSPI)
  • Experience developing data algorithms using statistical principles
  • Must have an active or current and transferable DoD Secret security clearance.  Must be able to maintain the required clearance.
  • Requires minimum of 7 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; OR
    • 5 years of relevant experience with a Master's; OR
    • 3 years of relevant experience with a Doctorate

Desired Experience:

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as .NET, Java, C#, and experience with Linux, Visual Studio/VSCode
  • Familiarity with GIT repositories and version control
  • Experience working in Agile software development environment
  • Knowledge of Software Management and CI/CD tools
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies and service providers (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Strong documentation skills, including the ability to create system diagrams, IDDs, user manuals, and troubleshooting guides
  • Understanding of engineering principles and practices
  • Experience with containerization (Docker)
  • Self-motivated with excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills
