Axient is seeking a Program Manager to join our team at the Headquarters of the United States Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategy, Integration and Requirements in Washington DC.

 

The Headquarters of Air Force A5, Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategy Integration and Requirements went through a series of evolutionary phases to become Air Force Futures. This transformation symbolizes Air Force Futures' mission of being the voice of Tomorrow's Airmen and delivering the tools and training they will need to defend the nation in their time.

The plan for executing this Strategy is divided into three objectives and the supporting reforms that will help drive toward the new vision.

The three objectives are as follows:

What you will do...

Headquarters United States Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategy, Integration and

Requirements (HQ USAF/A5/7) is responsible for analytic decision support to senior Air Force leaders; strategy development; operational concept development; operational challenge studies; operational/regional politico-military analysis; developing capability assessments; war and mobility planning support; requirements development; conducting net assessments; and Air Force Planning and Programming decision support of developing the Air Force of the future.  Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) are required to support analysis across all phases of Air Force design to support the strategic planning and programming process: strategy development, force design, concept formulation; threat assessment, exercises, modeling and simulation and continuous feedback loops.

 

The A57 requires strong project management and an experienced project manager. The PM will:

 

  • Organizing daily activities based on the A57 goals
  • Devising new programs that support the A57 objectives
  • Coming up with sustainable goals for the A57
  • Manage personnel as they develop M&S to provide insights to A57 strategy and capability development.
  • Evaluating and assessing the A57 strengths and weaknesses
  • Monitoring A57 projects and oversee contract personnel to ensure goals are met
  • Meeting with A57 to discuss program status and goals
  • Manage A57 personnel to optimize performance

Skills you will need...

Minimum qualifications: 

  • A bachelor’s degree and project management certification
  • Ten years minimum project management experience working with the Department of Defense.
  • A strong background of Air Force knowledge and experience.  A background and knowledge of Air Force strategy, planning, and/or capability is highly desired.
  • Additional desired experience includes modeling and simulation, defense analysis, Joint experience, and military service.  The applicant must be an effective leader.
  • Clearance Required: This position requires a TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility.
