Axient is seeking a Senior Management Analyst to join our team at the Headquarters of the United States Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategy, Integration and Requirements in Washington DC.

 

The Headquarters of Air Force A5, Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategy Integration and Requirements went through a series of evolutionary phases to become Air Force Futures. This transformation symbolizes Air Force Futures' mission of being the voice of Tomorrow's Airmen and delivering the tools and training they will need to defend the nation in their time.

The plan for executing this Strategy is divided into three objectives and the supporting reforms that will help drive toward the new vision.

The three objectives are as follows:

What you will do...

The Analyst is responsible for analytic decision support to senior Air Force leaders; strategy development; operational concept development; operational challenge studies; operational/regional politico-military analysis; developing capability assessments; war and mobility planning support; requirements development; conducting net assessments; and Air Force Planning and Programming decision support of developing the Air Force of the future.  Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) are required to support analysis across all phases of Air Force design to support the strategic planning and programming process: strategy development, force design, concept formulation; threat assessment, exercises, modeling and simulation and continuous feedback loops.

 

You will:

  • Perform high-level (qualitative and quantitative) analysis in support of department decision making on strategic priorities.
  • Write research briefs and white papers.
  • Present data to internal and external constituents.
  • Support development and continual tracking of core assumptions impacting strategic objectives. Conduct quality assurance checks on reports and data prepared for internal and external dissemination.
  • Develop sub-elements or attributes of hypotheses to enable analysis, wargames, and modeling and simulation. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills you will need...

Required Experience

Over 10 years of related experience in research and analysis.

Ph.D. degree in one of the following:

Asian Studies, Organizational Analysis, Strategic Studies, Russian Studies, Intelligence Studies, International Relations, Military History, or an approved national security related field (i.e., Defense & Strategic Studies, Foreign Affairs, International Politics, and Economics)

Documented experience with military intelligence and assessment as related to strategic decision-making.

Strong writing skills, with minimum of 3 published works, and publishing record in peer-reviewed journals and/or university press books within the areas of conflict processes, strategic studies, and analytical approaches to national security decision-making.

These publications shall show expertise in the following: qualitative/quantitative methods, analytical statistical or historical approaches using archival materials.

 

This position will be located at the Pentagon or another local facility as determined by the government customer.  Must be local and able to work onsite.
