Systems Engineering Group (SEG), a wholly owned subsidiary of AXIENT LLC, is seeking enthusiastic candidates wanting to support the defense of our nation.  SEG provides an intellectually stimulating environment with excellent opportunities for technical and leadership growth. This position will support the SEG group which characterizes sensor and missile performance against threat ballistic and cruise missiles through modeling, simulation and analysis using digital simulations.

The Training Manager will support the AN/SPY-6 Family of Radars (FoR), specifically the AN/SPY-6 (v) 4 and (v) 3 system variants by providing and coordinating with a high degree of independence, Integrated Product Support (IPS) product delivery and meeting schedule and milestone requirements review.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:

  • Serve as a Training Manager supporting the AN/SPY-6 Family of Radars (FoR), by providing and coordinating with a high degree of independence, training program product delivery and meeting schedule and milestone requirements between several Navy commands and various support activities.
  • The manager will be responsible overall program management to ensure the curriculum is developed within budget, at a defined scope and per the agreed upon schedule.
    • They are expected to coordinate all training program products and deliverables.
    • Coordinate with government team and receive customer feedback.
    • Develop an integrated master schedule (IMS).
    • Track performance and milestone requirements per the program specifications.
  • Provide and enter all training materials, to include:
    • Course syllabus & Curricula
    • Lesson Plans, Trainee Guide & Learning Resources
    • Schedules & Programs
    • Training aids & Instructional Materials
    • Quizzes & Tests
    • Scenarios, Tactics & Strategies
    • Assembles, maintains, and stores all source materials to support the training program.
  • The manager will support efforts to develop relevant technical training documentation, as directed by government product support and training leads, and track issues and risks as discussed during working group meetings, program reviews, and other government led meetings that the contractor will be asked to track and manage all actions consistent with training program development, implementation, and lifecycle sustainment. They will be responsible for creating and maintaining course implantation support documents.
  • Participates in AN/SPY-6 FoR training program analyses and critical In-Process Reviews/conferences and conducts training QA reviews.
  • Prepares analytical training evaluations and/or reviews on proposed or existing technical documentation for assigned equipment. The documentation may include development, interface or end item specification, test requirements and plans, production drawings, operating manuals, etc. Utilizes knowledge of the system equipment and Navy training programs to review the documentation for technical training accuracy and adequacy.
  • Manager will participate in a variety of Program Office and NAVSEA Program Reviews, Integrated Product Team (IPTs), including Design Reviews, Integration and Planning Working Groups, Technical Documentation Working Groups, System Engineering Working Groups, and Local Configuration Control Board Group, implementing Acquisition Policy and short and long-term acquisition strategies, as required to assess impacts to training program.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Active US DoD SECRET clearance
  • 5-10 years’ work experience supporting curriculum development and training Sailors.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must possess a High School Degree or equivalent.

Knowledge required by the position:

  • Knowledge of the administration, management, or development of courses of instruction and the ability to analyze, evaluate, and support training requirements for combat and weapon systems from Pre-Systems Acquisition phase through sustainment phase.
  • Knowledge and skill in the application of management principles, concepts and methodology to a variety of difficult and complex training projects. Requires the ability to modify standard training program practices and procedures to solve a variety of training problems, ability to adapt precedents or make departures from previous approaches to similar work assignments to tailor precedents and practices to meet special training projects.
  • Ability to prepare and make oral and written presentations to clearly present specific IPS related proposals of recommendations. Practical knowledge of combat systems sufficient to analyze logistics and engineering changes to provide for recommended training solutions. Must also be able to review and edit technical training program documentation for Navy personnel and others and apply the maturity of judgment and interpersonal skills to successfully lead training teams, negotiate and develop compromises, and secure agreements to effectively move projects forward and maintain liaison with collaborative agencies.
  • Must have working knowledge of combat and weapon systems and be capable of associating equipment components with the parent system. They must be familiar enough with the engineering and technical aspects of broad equipment categories, such as radar systems and computers, to understand the impact of equipment or component failures on total system availability and supportability.

  • The Training Manager is expected to have some experience in developing curriculum using AIM/ CPM LOM.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Master Training Specialist with SPY-6 training experience.
  • Experience with documentation and presentations via Microsoft office products (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Self-starter – Demonstrate independent ownership of tasking. Position affords opportunity to define path and lead tasks based on technical understanding of engineering community and appreciation of customer needs.

Travel: Local travel anticipated, less than 25% percent and rare short overnight trips.

Telework: Authorized with sustained performance.
