Primary Role

The Signal Processing Engineer will design and implement Radio Frequency (RF) communication systems and lead a team of engineers and developers to support quick reaction capabilities.

Responsibilities

Key Functions

  • Leads development team and works alongside Project Lead (PL) on project schedule, risks and testing
  • Interact with technical team members from multiple organizations in a team environment
  • Maintain systems and documentation as needed for development and ongoing operations

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related science/engineering field
  • 5 years’ experience in signal processing development

 

Desired Education/Experience

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related science/engineering field
  • 10 years’ experience in signal processing development

 

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to complete tasks, drive projects to closure, assimilate and correlate project information in a fast-paced environment and incorporate them into coherent test strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to shift from one project to another in a dynamic work environment
  • Ability to communicate technical approaches and details within small project teams, including team interaction and presentations internally and with leadership
  • Strong programming skills (e.g., python, C/C++, bash)
  • Development in a Linux environment
  • Experienced with Digital Signal Processing
  • Experienced with Software Defined Radios

 

Desired Skills

  • Strong desire to keep technical skills current and remain abreast of emerging technologies, new versions of existing solutions
  • Familiarity with various SATCOM systems & RF signals
  • Knowledge of IP network transport & protocols
  • Software development with GPU architectures and CUDA
  • Experience remotely troubleshooting issues
  • Deep understanding in the theory and implementation of SATCOM protocols, systems, and standards
  • Able to read, write, and interpret complex documents
  • Skilled working with Docker containers
  • Reviews, analyzes, and modifies systems to include coding, testing, debugging, installing, and documenting

 

Travel

  • This position will require overnight travel for approximately 10 percent of the time. Trip durations may range from overnight to several weeks.

 

Clearance

  • Only candidates who currently possess an active Top Secret / SCI clearance will be considered. Clearance must be at least 1 year away from next 5 year update. Must be able to maintain the required clearance.  Applicants for positions which require DoD security clearance must meet eligibility requirements to include US citizenship.
