Overview

Axient is currently seeking a ICBM Missile Test Engineer to join our team and provide technical support to our customer at Hill Air Force Base Utah.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Assist the Air Force Sentinel Combined Test Force (CTF) Lead Developmental Test & Evaluation Organization (LDTO) in conducting ICBM development tests and evaluations activities for the Air Force next generation ICBM nuclear deterrent.
    • Support Sentinel development test efforts to evaluate system performance against program requirements.
    • Monitor contractor testing activities for different missile and launch facility components, including rocket boosters, guidance systems, propulsion, re-entry vehicle hardware, and more.
    • Collaborate with government and contractor engineers to plan, execute, analyze, and report on test activities throughout various program acquisition phases.
    • Identify technical and safety risks associated with testing of the missile systems.
    • Utilize engineering practices to identify test limitations and ensure that testing occurs in operationally relevant environments.
    • Assist in the evaluation of requirements verification and validation for assigned missile subsystems.
    • Collaborate with Integrated Product Teams and Working Groups as needed.
    • Provide technical support and recommending approaches to engineering efforts and test activities in situations where existing guidelines are not available or applicable.
    • Contribute to the development of test plans, test reports, and other technical documents.

Qualifications

Required knowledge, skills, and education:

  • Ability to obtain up to a Top Secret DOD clearance.
  • A bachelor’s degree and 3-10 years of experience, to include test and evaluation. 
  • Background in test and evaluation of missile systems (desired).
  • Familiarity with ICBM weapon systems, related subsystems/equipment, and testing methods/planning (highly desired).
  • Experience in ground or flight test conduct, data analysis/evaluation, modeling and simulation, technical report preparation, and administrative aspects of test programs (highly desired).
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality work within established timelines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while maintaining positive customer relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or within a group.
  • Adherence to safety and security requirements.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
