Overview

Axient is searching for candidates for a full-time System Safety Engineer to  to join our team in El Segundo, CA.

You will be supporting (MSEIT) and the Air Force’s acquisition of state of the art Military Satellite Communications systems, providing global secure, survivable, and protected communications for our nation’s warfighters.

Qualifications

 

 Responsibilities:

  • Support the MSEIT System Safety Government Team by evaluating ESOH risks identified by the government, contractors, or other stakeholders, preparing ESOH documents and providing system safety support for Space Flight Worthiness certification
  • Perform safety risk assessments in accordance with MSEIT Program and Space Force guidance documents and prepare safety risk assessments for acceptance or for further mitigation.
  • Prepare documents including but not limited to: Programmatic Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Evaluation (PESHE) and Space Debris Assessment Report/End of Life Plan for space vehicles

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4+ years’ experience in systems engineering
  • 1+ years’ experience in Systems Safety engineering, to include System Safety Engineering practices, techniques, and procedures and working with System Safety military standards and regulations
  • Active Secret (or higher) clearance is required for the position

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • BS in technical field, such as engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science.
  • MS degree
  • Certifications in Systems Engineering (INCOSE ESEP, CSEP)
  • Knowledge and experience in Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with MILSATCOM, such as AEHF, EPS, WGS, and FAB-T terminal programs
