Overview

Axient is seeking a Mission Planning Engineer to provide support to the 40 Flight Test Squadron and the F-15 Operational Flight/Program/Combined Test Force (OFP/CTF) at Eglin AFB, FL.

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop test mission specific data transfer modules (DTMs) and data transfer cartridges
  • (DTCs) using the joint Mission Planning System (JMPs)
  • Responsible for keeping JMPS databases updated
  • Works closely with test aircrew and flight test engineers to create specialized data sets for developmental testing of new weapon systems, aircraft OFP flight software, and Harm
  • Targeting System (HTS) load files
  • Develops aircrew mission guides, mission data development and threat system documents, and flight test specific reference documents
  • Loads GPS crypto keys for flight test missions
  • Travels to offsite locations as required and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • US Citizenship with current and active Secret clearance with an investigation date within the last five years required. 
  • BS Degree in an engineering discipline or a technical field and 10 years of experience,
    • Or, MS Degree and 8 years of experience is required.
    • Or, AS Degree and 12 years' work experience
    • or 6 years' work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Must be able to interface closely with the configuration control manager of the Mission Planning Equipment (MPE) and JMPS test community.
  • Must be proficient in updating the Link 16 Network Design Load (NDL) from the OPSTASKLINK
  • Knowledge of F-15 or F-16 avionics is desired. 
  • Previous rated USAF aircrew, Test Pilot or Weapons School graduates is highly desired.
  • Ability to operate in high operations tempo flight test squadron supporting multiple platforms with experimental OFP and ordnance configurations
  • Able to quickly grasp advanced concept weapons and fighter tactics
  • Able to work effectively as part of a test team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required
