Overview

Axient is seeking a Wargaming Scenario Designer to join our team supporting the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). This position can be in the Washington DC area.

Axient provides concept design, development, integration, test, launch integration, and operations and evaluation of new space technologies and engineering prototypes. We support a broad range of mission areas including Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance, Position Navigation and Timing, Space Situational Awareness, Space Control, and Weather across all classes (Class 1 “Rapid Sats” to Class 3 “Flagships”).

Current TS/SCI clearance is ultimately required. We will look at candidates who have held this level clearance in the past.

Responsibilities

As A Scenario Designer you will:

Leverage experience to design operational military scenarios and vignettes based on Intelligence Community data, estimates, and calculated forward-projection.

Create realistic approximations of real-world combat operations by modeling the functions of friendly and adversary systems in a software-agnostic machine-readable format.

Create orders of battle, master scenario events list, and script movement of forces across all domains.

Derive and translate requirements for engineering staff; ensure customer simulation system needs are met with company-developed and commercial software.

Work with a software developer team to build test cases for software, hardware, subsystem, and system modules to verify system specifications are met.

Ensure scenario compatibility with a suite of simulation tools to facilitate both wargaming and analysis at the engineering, mission, and campaign levels.

Work with systems engineers to build and develop SysML models of real-world systems to act wholly or in part as digital twins.

Attend military wargames to provide technical support and keep abreast of the latest CONOPS and OPLANS for more realistic scenario design.
