Position involves working closely with a diverse team to plan, test, and analyze hypersonic and ballistic thermal protection systems materials.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Working with minimal supervision, performing engineering analysis and modeling functions for arc-heated test cells, in a variety of technical areas including:
- Hypersonics
- Compressible Flow
- Heat Transfer
- Thermodynamics
- Thermal protection systems
- Working as part of a multi-disciplinary government and contractor team to plan, test, analyze, and report through multiple program acquisition phases by:
- Assisting in generation of analysis plans, objectives, measures of performance, and success criteria which support the evaluation of aerospace weapon systems.
- Advising/assisting the government and customer during the test process.
- Performing in-depth analysis of the resulting test data in order to meet analysis objectives.
- Preparing quick-look reports and detailed technical reports for the customer, to record test planning, data processing and analysis, results, and conclusions/recommendations.
- Reviewing state-of-the-art test and analysis techniques in literature and applying them to specific project requirements.
- Supporting analysis-technique development efforts to advance the state-of-the-art analysis capabilities.
- Learning and effectively using a variety of government and in-house simulation codes and analysis tools.
- Working in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing/balancing multiple projects and deadlines.
